Julie Bencosme is a full-time dental hygiene faculty at Eugenio Maria de Hostos community College, Bronx, New York. Julie?s career spans four decades in dental hygiene. Her dental hygiene experiences include clinical dental hygiene in two inner city hospitals.  She has practiced in pediatric, periodontal and general private practices. Her teaching career started over twenty years ago at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College her alma mater.  Julie has an associate degree in Dental Hygiene from Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Administration and a Masters of Arts in Health Education, both from Herbert H. Lehman College.

 

She is well known in the field of dental hygiene, as an accomplished author in peer-reviewed and industry journals. Julie has also lectured nationally and internationally. She has received numerous awards to include a Citation from the New York State Assembly. Julie is also past President of the New York Chapter of the Hispanic Dental Association from 2020-2022. As President, she was recognized for her leadership as Chapter of the Year Award in 2020.
